2015 Big Table Farm Wirtz Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Gris

13.2% alc., 159 cases, $32. Label shows pasture wild flowers drawn by Clare. The clone is particularly dark and the orange color of the wine reflects this. Fermented on the skins and stems, and finished fermenting in old French oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderate pinkish orange color in the glass. Reserved aromas of peach, spice and terra-cotta. Unique in taste, with flavors of strawberry, peach, yellow raisin and a hint of smoke and baking spice. Nicely balanced with a juicy finish. Score: 88. Reviewed October 19, 2016
