2016 Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve Lot 80 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $12.99. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. The nose opens slowly to reveal aromas of purple and black berries, marzipan, wood spice and dark chocolate. Sleek and easy to drink, with a mid weight core of dark berry fruits backed by toasty oak. Rather elegant, with soft tannins, building in intensity over time in the glass. Score: 87.
