2015 Goldeneye Ten Degrees Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., 1,175 cases, $125. The winery’s finest lots of the vintage. Sourced from all four of the winery’s estate vineyards. Aged 16 months in 100% new French oak barrels. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. Engaging aromas of blackest cherry, blackberry, oak and vanillin lead off. Discreetly concentrated core of black cherry fruit is accented with toasty oak. A wine with serious intentions with a firm tannic backbone and and a long, cherry-blessed finish. Considerably more open and enjoyable when tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. This wine is not as extracted and opulent as usual in this vintage, but is a better table wine as a result. Score: 93. Reviewed June 9, 2018
