2014 Kessler-Haak Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

2.6% alc., 120 cases, $N/A. Clone 2A. Aged 10 months in neutral French and Hungarian oak barrels. · Dark garnet color in the glass. Aromas of fertile earth and cigar initially. Dark fruit aromas showed up when the wine was tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. More fruit-driven on the palate, featuring mid weight flavors of black raspberry, boysenberry and blackberry, yet with noticeable woody overlay. The tannins are well integrated and the finish is very modest. Score: 87. Reviewed July 21, 2018
