2010 Colene Clemens Vineyards Estate Reserve Chehalem Mountains Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., $38. · Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Very enticing nose offering hi-tone aromas of berries on the vine, oak spice and BBQ smoke. Light in weight and soft on the palate with a core of exotically spiced dark berries and grilled plums underlain with a smoky, peppery note, backed by ripe tannins. An interesting wine that is different from the Oregon norm. Even better the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle show plenty of intriguing spice on the nose and palate. Very good. Reviewed November 24, 2012
