Aged 11 months in 38% new, 25% 1-year-old, and 37% 2-year-old French oak barrels. · Dark reddish purple color in the glass. Dense and very ripe, showing typical Martini clone character. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate and a subtle floral note. A voluptuous array of black fruits are complimented with an underpinning of dark chocolate and well integrated oak. The tannins are grainy and robust, but well tucked in, and the finish displays serious extract. An ideal wine for steak or short ribs. Score: 91. Reviewed May 15, 2014
