14.5% alc., pH 3.85, TA 0.61, 746 cases, $32. Sourced from contiguous vineyards (Zabala, Cedar Lane and Griva) in an area of a dry riverbed featuring shallow, rocky topsoil. Clones are Pommard 4, Martini 13, 115, 667, 777 and a DRC “La Tache” selection. 100% de-stemmed, 2-day cold soak, inoculated with RC212 yeast, on skins 12-15 days. Aged 11 months in French oak barrels, 12% new. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, earthy flora and tobacco lead to a mid weight core of sumptuous black cherry fruit infused with a savory tone. Silky textured with a modest finish. Score: 88.
