2012 The Calling Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., TA 0.65, $37. From the Mill Station Vineyard, one of the coolest sites in the Russian River Valley. Aged 10 months in 40% new French oak barrels. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. The nose is highly expressive with bright aromas of Bing cherry, spice, cinnamon stick, graham, sassafras and oak. Luxurious cherry core with accents of cola, anise, spice and oak. 13.5% alc., pH 3.49, TA 0.66, 2,336 cases, $35. Released March 2012. Sourced from five Dutton Ranch vineyards with 40% from Mill Station Vineyard. 100% barrel fermented. Aged 10 months in 40% new French oak barrels. · Attractive aromas of fresh pears, lemon and roasted nuts. Flavors of baked pears, green apple, and citrus in a crisp, bright style with some length on the refreshing lemon-driven finish. A terrific food wine. Very good.
