Krutz Family Cellars
A small winery producing an Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and a Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay. Owner and winemaker Patrick Krutz developed a sincere interest in wine working at The Cheese Shop in Carmel, California. Krutz Family Cellars began modestly in 2003 with the production of less than 100 cases of wine for family and friends, making wine in the Santa Lucia Highlands. The family eventually settled in Santa Rosa in 2005. The 2003 to 2007 vintages were crafted entirely by Patrick Krutz. His younger brother Cole joined the business in 2007 and assists in the winemaking currently. Patrick married Rebecca Kuchar Krutz after their meeting in the summer of 2007 to round out the family business. The Magnolia flower, the state flower of Mississippi, is a symbol of the family's southern roots and is displayed on the website. The wines are sold on the website with some restaurant and retail distribution. The wines are poured at Santa Rosa's Vintner's Square in a tasting room shared with other small wineries (open Fri-Sun and by appointment - 707-536-1532). |
