The family farms 850 acres of estate land with organically and sustainably. The winery focuses on Bordeaux blends, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir.
The winemaker, David Galzignato, is of Italian heritage who graduated from University of Calfornia at Davis with majors in enology and viticulture and Italian. He trained in Italy and at Columbia Crest in Washington and Kendall Jackson in California. He joined Charles Krug in 2003, pausing for a time in 2006 to pursue small-lot winemaking at Paraduxx and Lewis Cellars. He revamped the portfolio at Charles Krug and the winery invested in new equipment and renovation of all of its vineyards.
