Weingut Michlits - Meinklang
This Burgenland estate is run by Angela and Werner Michlitsch. The name is a composite of "M" for Michlits and "Einklang: for unison or harmony, as in "in harmony with nature." Vineyards total over 137 acres with 70% planted to red varieties including Zeigelt, Blaufrankisch, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Roesler. Biodynamic farming is implemented in the vineyards (Demeter certified since 2005). The estate has its own herd of Angus cattle and uses the dung from the herd in compost.
Articles About Weingut Michlits - MeinklangReviewed Wines![]() 2007 Weingut Michlits Burgenland/ Österreich Austria Pinot Noir 14.0% alc., $20. Imported by Presscott Wines Inc., NY, NY. Made from organic grapes. · Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. A panoply of dark berry aromas clothed in toasty oak. Impressively rich mid palate attack of black cherry and black raspberry fruit with a hint of cola. Comforting mouthfeel with mildly aggressive tannins and bright acidity. Better over time in the glass. A charming wine that should benefit from even more time in the cellar. Very good. Reviewed August 24, 2010 ARTICLE »
