Oreana Winery & Marketplace
An urban winery in downtown Santa Barbara producing 10,000 cases of multiple varietals including a value-priced Central Coast Pinot Noir under the Oreana label and an inexpensive Central Coast Pinot Noir under the Mission Point label. The name Oreana comes from the ranching days of California's Central Coast and is a term used by cattle ranchers for an unbranded calf that strays onto your property and is therefore yours to keep. The winery is housed in an old tire shop and includes a tasting room, wine shop, and a gourmet gift market (205 Anacapa St., Santa Barbara). Voted best tasting room by Santa Barbara News-Press in 2012. Production is about 10,000 cases but some small lots are as small as 20 cases. The winery is known for great events and parties. |
