Mount Michael Wines & Estates
Mount Michael Vineyard was planted by Martin and Sue Anderson in 1994. Initially grapes were sold, and production of a Mount Michael label was eventually launched. In late 2004, new owners headed by Peter Morrison acquired Mount Michael. New vines were planted and new sources for grapes were obtained. Shane Goodger, who has managed the vineyards since 2002, is part of a family that has lived in the area for six generations.
Reviewed Wines2003 Mount Michael Central Otago New Zealand Pinot Noir 14.0% alc., $30. This wine is estate grown from a 10-acre vineyard. · Terrific nose of cherries, strawberries and rhubarb. The flavors duplicate the aromas. Silky and balanced with a lengthy finish. Reviewed April 16, 2006
