Fritz Underground Winery
Jay Arthur Fritz built this underground winery into the side of a hill in the northernmost region of Dry Creek Valley, California in the late 1970s. His son, Clayton, runs the winery today. Wines are produced from estate fruit and sources in Sonoma County, including the Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley. The lineup includes a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. A tasting room is open by appointment at the winery at 24691 Dutcher Creek Road in Cloverdale. The wines are sold through the winery's website store. The winery offers several interesting tasting experiences including the "Create Your Own Unique Fritz Pinot Noir" where you can blend, bottle and cork a bottle of Pinot Noir that you can take home to enjoy ($175/person).
