Gann Family Cellars
Gretchen and Michael Gann, who met at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, had a dream of making wine some day. In late 2001 they began researching properties in Napa and Sonoma and finally found a suitable vineyard in Healdsburg. The Gann Family Vineyard is a 110-acre estate which lies partly in the Russian River Valley and partly in the Alexander Valley appellations. The vineyard, originally planted in 1978, has been a top source of Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Zinfandel. The consulting winemaker is Jonathan "Dan" Barwick who has well over ten years of winemaking experience in Northern California wineries. A Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is offered. The wines may be sampled at Cellars of Sonoma, a multi-winery Tasting Room in the Railroad Square district of Santa Rosa (open daily). |
