Kaizen
Two young sommeliers from The French Laundry have launched their own label.The name, "Kaizen," is Japanese for "improvement" or "change for the better." Jesse Rodriguez is currently the Wine Director for Addison and The Grand Del Mar in San Diego and was named one of America's "Best New Sommeliers" by Wine & Spirits magazine. Michael Scafiddi is currently the Wine Director of the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C.. A Pinot Noir is offered from the Silacci Vineyard in Monterey County, crafted with the assistance of Emmanuel Kemiji. The wines is sold through a mailing list. |
