Lazy River Vineyard
The Lumpkin Family produces an estate Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Riesling at Carlton Winemakers Studio in Carlton, Oregon. The winemaker is Erich Hamacher. Ned Lumpkin who was president of Lumpkin Construction for 30 years, partnered with Hamacher in the design and building of the Carlton Winemakers Studio which opened in 2002. Vineyard management is by Buddy Beck and Angel Martinez of Advanced Vineyard Systems Lazy River Vineyard is located on a 146-acre estate, 3.5 miles from Yamhill. The vineyard is mainly Jory soil, unusual outside of the Dundee Hills. 30 acres of Pinot Noir and 3 acres of Pinot Gris and 3 acres of Riesling. The first harvest was 2002. |
