A small, family owned winery started in 2000 in Paso Robles wine country. The focus is value priced wines. The first bottled wine was released in April 2003.

Sam Balakian is the President and Winemaster, and manages the winery operations with his wife Valerie. He is a graduate of California State University at Fresno with a B.S. in Enology and later received an M.S. in Food Science from the University of California at Davis in 1966. He has been crafting wine for nearly forty years.

The name, "Tarrica," is a derivative of owners Sam and Valerie Balakian's daughters' first names: Taryn and Erica.

Multiple varietals are offered including a Pinot Noir sourced from Monterey. The wines are widley distributed in the retail marketplace.
