Atwater Estate Vineyards & Winery
Located on the southeastern shore of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes wine country of New York state. The estate vineyards have sixteen different varieties of grapes, grown on a glacier-carved hillside that extends from Route 414 to just above the water's edge. The wines are produced from estate grown fruit and include a Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir sparkling wine. Grapes have been grown on the property since the early 1970s. Ted Marks purchased the established vineyards and launched Atwater in 2000. His son-in-law, Phil Hazlitt, is the winemaker. Production is about 8,500 cases annually. A tasting room is open daily from 10:00 to 5:00. |
