Cerro Prieto Vineyard & Cellars
A small family vineyard and cellar in the Templeton Gap off Hwy 46 in the Paso Robles AVA. The wines offered are primarily from the estate vineyard in Willow Creek area in the western elevations of the Santa Lucias. The first vintage was 2006. Owner Larry Stanton practiced medicine for 40 years, primarily in dermatology. He moved to the Paso Robles area in 1977 and began farming that year while maintaining a medical practice. Cerro Prieto Vineyard was planted in 1999, and he and his spouse Teresa live adjacent the vineyard. The wines have been highly rated and won medals in major wine competitions. A Pinot Noir is offered in addition to several warm-climate varietals. |
