A family-owned, boutique winery producing wines from Napa Valley grapes. Owners David and Kelly Francl had their first date at the Bacchus Wine Bar in San Francisco and the idea for producing a California wine of their own using the Bacchus brand arose shortly thereafter. The Francls were married in Napa Valley in August of 2008 and currently produce wine on an estate in Saint Helena less than five miles from the site of their nuptials.
The Francls engaged a consultant sommelier in 2011 and together with winemaker Paul Steinauer they select the final custom blends bottled under the Bacchus label.
The Bacchus wines are sold through a mailing list.
