A notable Washington State producer of Cabernet Sauvignon that also sources Pinot Noir from Oregon. Owner and winemaker Rob Newsom is a closet Burgundy lover. He put off making Pinot Noir for years because it was so challenging to manage a vineyard block in Oregon while managing 12 others in Washington. Finally he found the old Kathken Vineyard northwest of Salem in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. He hauled two tons of Pinot Noir grapes 7 hours back to Washington in the 2013 vintage
