Founded in 1880 by Joseph Drouhin. Robert-Jousset-Drouhin is now the head of the domaine and his son, Phillipe, manages the vineyards. Consistently fine wines across the entire range. 182.5 acres owned.
The winemaker since 2007 is Jerome Faure-Brac who took over from Laurence Jobard, who had been at the estate since 1973. Veronique Boss-Drouhin came over from Oregon to ease the transition.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Aromas of baked
cherry, fruit compote, cardamom spice, oak and stem lead off. Light to mid weight styled with well-ripened
cherry and cranberry flavors along with accents of vanilla, toast and spice. Inviting charm and balance with
sinewy tannins and a remarkable finish that saturates the aromatic memory for a minute or two. Drink now to
2030.

2002 Domaine Drouhin Chambolle Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er
13.0% alc.. This vineyard is one
of a handful that many experts deem worth of grand cru status (and is priced accordingly). It is situated
just below Musigny and is considered the “younger brother to Musigny.”

The aromatics are quite
sensual featuring violets, roses, and cassis. The predominately red fruit flavors are buttressed by brisk
acidity. Clean, crisp and thoroughly satisfying, this is truly a complete wine deserving of great admiration.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass.
Pleasant aromas of cherry and toast arrive over time. Rather delicate in style, with a tasty core of fresh dark
red berry and black cherry fruit accented with subtle spice and oak. Very long in the mouth and on the finish
with compatible tannins in the background. I was impressed by the seeming youth and freshness of this 16-
year-old wine, yet the nose lacked virility. The finish went on and on. I can really get into a wine like this. Drink
now-2025.
Score: Exceptional.
