Denis Bachelet has been running this family domaine pretty much by himself since taking over in 1983. The wines are highly lauded and noted wine critic Clive Coates MW has said of Bachelet's wines, "intensity, great elegance and subtlety; feminine in the best sense." The Charmes-Chambertin is the top wine in the lineup.
