Self-rooted Pommard clone planted in 1996. 100% whole cluster, native fermentation, Aged 11 months on the lees in neutral French oak barrels. · Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. The aromas arrive grudgingly over time in the glass showing a mix of earthy and dark fruit tones. Mid weight plus in style, with concentrated flavors of blueberry, pomegranate and black raspberry framed by rather brutish tannins. Fruit-driven, with an intensely sappy finish. Score: 89.
