2018 Rural Eagle Peak Mendocino County Pinot Noir 14.0% alc., $ 29.99 (often discounted significantly). · Moderate garnet color in the glass. The nose arrives over time in the glass revealing aromas of dark cherry, rose petal, and spice. The mid-weight plus charge of black cherry and boysenberry fruit is well-ripened and framed by noticeable but not imposing tannins. A good cut of acidity invests the modest, but satisfying finish. Better when tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. Score: 90. Reviewed February 7, 2021
