Old Wente selection and Pommard clone. aged in 25% new, 25% 1-year and 50% 2-3 year French oak barrels. · Lightest and reddest in color of the Pinot Noirs tasted here, with appealing aromas and flavors of cherry, earth, grilled mushroom and sandalwood. Very distinctive, reflecting the terroir of this heritage vineyard. Score: 90. Reviewed January 20, 2014
