2014 Loring Wine Company Russell Family Vineyard Paso Robles Pinot Noir 14.2% alc., pH 3.55, 125 cases, $50. Release February 2016. · Dark reddish purple color in the glass. Very ripe fruit profile in this wine that offers aromas and flavors of sweet blackberry jam and cassis overlaid with oak. Full-bodied and tannic, akin to some Syrahs, with intensity of fruit flavor and a sweet, fruity finish. Not a classical version of Pinot Noir but of interest to those looking for a hedonistic experience and something different. Score: 88. Reviewed December 12, 2015
