2013 Hartford Court Seascape Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

14.2% alc., 346 cases, $65. Released January 2016. A Spring Mountain chardonnay selection. A cold and windy site in the direct path of the Petaluma Wind Gap. Native yeast fermentation, barrel fermented (very slow fermentation and malolactic fermentation). Aged 15 months in 100% French oak barrels, 47% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Darker golden color in the glass. Great scents of apple skin, moss, and citrus. Delicious flavors of lemon-lime and peach framed by bright acidity, expansive on the viscous palate, building in intensity through a glorious finish. The finish is uncommonly persistent for a Chardonnay. Score: 94. Reviewed June 19, 2016
