The complex nose offers a range of aromas including dark cherry, spice, underbrush, and savory herbs with the cherry aroma building intensity over time in the glass. Middleweight flavors of black cherry, pomegranate, tobacco, smoke and BBQ sauce have good length in the mouth and on the silken finish. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Pleasant perfume of crushed berries. Light to mid weight flavors of black cherry and plum with generous tannin somewhat buffered by juicy acidity. Complimentary oak is supportive, and the tangy, cherry-driven finish satisfies. 11.2% alc., $48. A higher elevation (700 feet) and cooler site. Own-rooted Wädenswil clone planted in the 1980s and organically farmed. 100% whole cluster fermented. Unfined and unfiltered. · Light cherry red color in the glass. Uplifting aromas of cherry spice lead to a light to mid weight core of red cherry and red berry fruits that are vibrant. 2012 Big Table Farm Cattrall Brothers Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

13.2% alc., 161 cases, $49. Tom and Bill Cattrall organically farm this vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. Own-rooted Wädenswil vines. Fermented 50% whole cluster. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. The nose offers aromas of black cherry, Marionberry, briar patch and tobacco oak. Modest in concentration but highly flavorful, with a good tannic backbone and acid spine. The middleweight flavors of plum reduction sauce and berry preserves are somewhat sappy and accented with a tug of oak. The lip smacking good finish is riff with bright acidity. Score: 89-90.
