A new project founded by Australian eonophile Michelle Turnbull. The label featuring Pinot Noir from the several California appellations and Merlot from Napa Valley was launched during the 2009 harvest.
The Pinot Noir winemaker is Byron Kosuge, who spent 15 years making wine at Saintsbury starting in 1987. Master Sommelier Emmanuel Kemiji is also involved in the project. The Merlot winemaker is Chris Corley.
Each bottle is individually numbered and has an industry-first hand-affixed leather label (the consumer can enter the number from their bottle to learn about the Habitat families and homes that are being built with help from the David Family program). A percentage of profits are donated to Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.
The wines are sold on the website and is available in select San Francisco restaurants.
