Bill Brosseau received his education from the University of California at Davis Viticulture and Enology program. He worked at several wineries before settling at Testarossa Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He is also the winemaker for Fleming Jenkins and Blackridge Estates and consults for vineyards and wineries. Bill's wife, Kilene, is also a graduate of University of California at Davis Viticulture and Enology program and assists in the operations of the vineyard and winery.
Small lots of Brosseau Vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah are produced (Chalone appellation). The wines are sold through a mailing list with some retail distribution. Old Vines bottlings are produced from vines dating to 1980.

Light golden yellow in the
glass. Inviting aromas of grilled lemon, brioche and flint.
Discreetly concentrated flavors of lemon, white stone
fruits, warm brioche and smoky flint. Beautifully composed,
with the slightest viscosity and bright acidity that keeps the
fruit in balance. Very reserved oak treatment.

2017 Brosseau Wines Old Vines Brosseau Vineyard Chalone Pinot Noir
13.9% alc., 45 cases, $53.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass. A catnip nose
filled with aromas of blackest cherry, black grapes and
ground savoury spice. A striking wine of obvious
exceptional pedigree offering the essence of
mouthwatering, earth-kissed black cherry in a mid-weight
style. Nicely composed with a good backbone of refined,
supportive tannins and a good underlying cut of acidity
especially noteworthy on the long and exuberant finish.
When tasted the following day from a previously opened
bottle, the wine was even more spectacular, filling the
glass with cherry fruit, spice and a floral component.
Nothing sexier than the scent of Pinot floral perfume.
Score: 96.

2007 Brosseau B Vineyard Chalone Pinot Noir
14.3% alc., $35.

A big fruity
nose sporting very ripe strawberries with hints of marzipan, raisins and maple
syrup. Ripe, roasted and dried deep red fruits wrapped in moderately firm
tannins and displaying a smooth and pleasing mouth feel. Decent.
