A small family owned boutique winery specializing in small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir from Napa and Sonoma. The Pinot Noir grapes are sourced from the Russian River Valley and Carneros appellations. The proprietors are Craig and Karen Senders. Craig Senders, M.D. (Otolayrngology) crafts the wines at a custom crush facility in Napa and Karen Senders handles the marketing and sales.

2014 Senders Mahoney Ranch Las Brisas Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir
13.9% alc., 50 cases, $45. Aged 16 months in French oak barrels. · Light ruby red color in the glass. Lovely aromas of cherry, spice and rose petal with the slightest hint of volatile acidity. Light in weight and delicately styled with flavors of red cherry and spice and the slightest tomato note. Easygoing with modest tannins and a caressing finish. Score: 88. 2013 Senders Carneros Pinot Noir
14.2% alc., 105 cases, $45. 50% clone 667 and 50% Swan selection. · Light ruby red color in the glass. The nose resembles an aged Pinot Noir with aromas of dried cherry, straw, dried herbs, spice, weathered wood and barn. Light weighted, elegant and soft in the mouth, with flavors of cherry, cranberry, spice, cola, tea and herbs. 2011 Senders Las Brisas Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir
13.8% alc., 125 cases, $N/A. Released April 2014. Clones 667 (40%), 777 (20%) and Swan (40%). Aged 12 months in 25% new French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. A cherry-themed wine with a savory herb component in the background. Crisp and fresh, with silky tannins and bright acidity. An easy to like, solid table wine. Score: 89. 2011 Senders Las Brisas Carneros Pinot Noir
13.8% alc., 125 cases, $55. Sourced from Mahoney Los Brisas Vineyard. 40% 667, 40% Swan and 20% 777. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. · Light ruby red color in the glass. The nose is nuanced with aromas of red cherry, cranberry, baking spice, old leather and smoky oak. Light to mid weight in style, with a shallow attack and finish, featuring red fruits, melted tannins vibrant acidity and a modest overlay of oak that peeks out at the end. 2010 Senders Las Brisas Carneros Pinot Noir
13.9% alc., 170 cases, $38. Sourced from Las Brisas Vineyard, clones 667, 777 and Swan. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish-purple hue in the glass. The nose offers appealing aromas of fresh cherries, forest floor and herb garden. Vivid black cherry and dark red berry fruits are featured with a finishing touch of spice. 2009 Senders Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
14.2% alc., $35. · Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Aromas of super ripe fruit, dominated by pruney, raisiny notes. A well-crafted wine with modest concentration, supple tannins, and a very silky mouthfeel, but regrettably, the black cherry and dark berry fruit is simply too ripe for my taste. Good. 2009 Senders Reserve Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
14.2% alc., pH 3.73, TA 0.61, $45. Sourced from Old Adobe Road Vineyard in the Petaluma Gap, clones 667 (70%) and 777 (30%). Aged 11 months in 50% mew Billon French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish-purple color in the glass. Aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, black olive and mushroom. 2007 Senders Wines Las Brisas Vineyard Reserve Carneros Pinot Noir
14.7% alc.. · Enticing aromas of ripe dark stone fruits with hints of oak toast, smoke and violets. Flavorful essence of fresh picked dark cherries and berries accented by a subtle grilled note. The tannins and acidity are more harmonious compared to the regular bottling and the silky smooth mouth feel is a come on. Veers to the edge of being over ripe, but falls short. 2007 Senders Wines Las Brisas Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir
14.3% alc., $30. · Lively aromas of black cherries and raspberries grab your attention over time in the glass, backed by a vegetal green bean note.
