2010 marked the 12th year of wine production for this small family owned winery in Central Otago. The winery was established in 1993 by Alistair Ward, Paula Ramage and the Ward family. The vineyards (Shanagolden Block and Old Matagouri Block) are located in Gibbston and were among the first planted here. Full production of Chardonnay, Gewüztraminer and Pinot Noir commenced in 1999. Additional expansion into Bannockburn and the purchase of additional Central Otago fruit has expanded the portfolio to include Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. The winemaker is Jennifer Parr at Olssens.
The cellar door is located in the former Wangaloa Presbyterian Church transported from southern Otago to its present location on Gibbston Highway. The wines are made under contract by Jen Parr at Olssen's. Production is 6,000 cases annually.

Slight orange tinge to the rim in the glass. Lovely nose of cherries and sandalwood. Nicely flavored mature fruit. On the lean side, finishing with a healthy tannic backbone.
