2019 The Pinot Project California Pinot Noir
13.5% alc., $10.99 (Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa). Vinted and bottled by The Pinot Project, Geyserville, CA. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Inviting aromas of red cherry, allspice and oak spice. Light to mid-weight in style, featuring flavors of cherry and ripest strawberry with a dustin go oak. No rough edges, with silky tannins and a cherry-fueled finish with some length. Excellent value. Score: 89. Reviewed December 13, 2020 ARTICLE »
2012 The Pinot Project California Pinot Noir
13.5% alc., $8.99, screwcap. Founded in 2009 by importer Michael Skurnik. Raised in approximately 15% French oak barrels and 85% stainless steel for 4-5 months. · Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. The nose is lacking in fruit appeal, showing aromas of exotic spice, oak and underbrush. A bit thin and flat with flavors of black cherry and anise and some finishing presence of black cherry fruit. Pleasant, but dilute and unexciting. Score: 83. Reviewed December 19, 2013 ARTICLE »
2011 The Pinot Project California Pinot Noir
13.5% alc., $9.99. · Moderate reddish-purple color in the glass. Slightly confected aromas of strawberries and red cherries with hints of spice and pine forest. Soft in the mouth with a moderately intense core of dark red cherry and raspberry fruit with a floral and pine needle sidecar. Soft in the mouth with a short finish. A pretty good Pinot for the money, but the pine forest adjunct (still present the following day from a previously opened bottle) was not pleasing to me. Decent. Reviewed April 4, 2012 ARTICLE »
2010 The Pinot Project California Pinot Noir
13.5% alc., $9.99. · Moderately deep reddish-purple color in the glass. Complex and pleasant nose offering scents of black cherries, cut flowers, spice and Herbs de Provence. The flavors echo the nose with added notes of cranberries, Hoison sauce and a touch of citrus on the finish. Well-structured with appealing acidity. A solid wine intended for early and daily drinking. Good (+). Reviewed November 2, 2011 ARTICLE »
