Maggy Hawk is a vineyard site in the deep end of the Anderson Valley composed of a complex patchwork of different facings, slopes and clones. Winegrower Dennis Winchester lives on the property and worked with Maggy Hawk's first winemaker, Elizabeth Grant-Douglas, to produce special bottlings of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir.
The vineyard was planted in 2000 at an elevation of 300 to 530 feet mere miles from the Pacific Ocean in the "deep end" of the Anderson Valley. Clones are 115, 667, Pommard 5 and Wädenswil. Yields are extremely low, at 1.5 to 2 tons per acre.
Grapes from the vineyard were part of La Crema's Anderson Valley bottling until 2006 when two vineyard designates were produced from Maggy Hawk Vineyard under the La Crema label. The Maggy Hawk label was launched with the 2007 vintage. The five-block/single clone wines from the vineyard are offered under the Jackson Family Estates parent company.
The winemaker became Sarah Wuetrich in 2020.
