Founder and winemaker of Argot Wines, Justin Harmon, developed a love for wine in his 20s and began collecting and reading as much as he could about wine. A former chemical engineering major, Harmon learned quickly. He made his first wine in the basement of his parent's house. In 2006, he worked harvest for Russell Bevan in Sonoma County.
In 2007, Harmon made his first wine from 1 ton of Syrah, and in 2009, he and business partner Karissa Kruze developed a parcel her family owned on Sonoma Mountain into an estate vineyard for Argot.
For Pinot Noir, Harmon emphasizes intensity in a fruit-driven style.
In 2018, Harmon produced 2,400 cases of Argot and consults on other clients.
The wines are available online through the website store, through a mailing list, and via limited retail distribution.
