Located on the southern edge of the Napa Valley in Jamieson Canyon, the Valley Gate Vineyards are nurtured by renowned viticulturist Oscar Renteria. The property was once part of a cattle and horse ranch and historically part of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo's Suscol Rancho. Several grazing areas were converted to vineyards in the 1980s, including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. A total of 100 acres of vineyards are now farmed. A winery features 57,000 square feet and an associated 3,000-square-foot tasting room.
The winemaker is Montgomery Paulsen who is a University of California Davis graduate with years of experience in the wine industry.
A single estate Pinot Noir is offered from Napa Valley. The tasting room is open daily.
