America's oldest direct-to-consumer winery founded in 1959 by Rodney Strong. The original offices were in Tiburon on San Francisco Bay where Strong had his home and tasting room. His innovative idea of printing labels with customer names on the labels caught on and began shipping wine direct to consumers who bought the wines for personal use and holiday gift ideas. Strong moved Windsor to Healdsburg in 1961 where he established Rodney Strong Vineyards. Windsor Vineyards has served customers for almost 50 years.
In 1989, the Klein family purchased Windsor Vineyards who improved the quality of the wines, and the winery was later acquired by Australia's Mildara Blass in 2000. Most recently, Windsor Vineyards was purchased by Vintner Patrick Roney, the owner of Girard Winery in Napa, who has continued direct sales to consumers and businesses with personalized wine labels.
Marco DiGiulio is the senior winemaker working with other members of the winemaking team including Tim Milos, Zach Long, Tony Austin and Nancy Walker.
A Russian River Valley and Sonoma County Pinot Noir are offered through the winery's online store.
Sister wineries include Windsor Sonoma Winery, Sonoma Coast Vineyards, Grove Street Winery, StoneFly Vineyards, and Fire Station Red. The Tiburon tasting room is closed but the tasting room on Healdsburg Plaza is open daily.
