Established in 1895 when Edoardo Seghesio plant his Zinfandel vineyard in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, the Seghesio family collected over 300 acres in Sonoma County and specialized in Zinfandel and Italian varietals. The winery was a family affair until 2011 when it was sold to Crimson Wine Group.
A Pinot Noir labeled Costiera (meaning coastal) is sourced from three vineyards in the Sonoma Coast appellation (Peters, Nuptial and Widdoes, all located close to the town of Sebastopol. Ted Seghesio has been the winemaker.
A tasting room was first opened in 1997 on Grove Street in Healdsburg.
