Proprietors are Enrique Lopez and Rosa Segura. The wines are a tribute to to farm workers and dedicated to Don Enrique Segura, who settled in the Napa Valley in the 1950s as one of the first Mexican American farm workers and vineyard managers.
Don Enrique Segura gained a steady job with Beringer in 1954. He obtained permanent residence in 1961. Later he was employed by Robert and Peter Mondavi at Charles Krug. He was able to bring his children to Napa in 1968 and his wife and younger children in 1972.
Rosa Segura is the daughter of Don Enrique Segura. She is active in migrant housing issues in Napa Valley. Enrique Lopez is the youngest of 6 brothers and 8 sisters raised by all of them when his father passed at just 2 years of age. He received a college degree in chemical engineering. Finding difficulty landing a job in his field, he worked as a gardener for Warren Winiarski in 1987. After learning English, he found his way into the lab. By 2000, he had started Servin-Lopez Vineyard Management and now provides service work for many winery estates in Napa, Lake and Sonoma counties.
The winemaker is Rudy Zuidema, a graduate of University of California at Davis. He has nearly two decades of experience in the wine industry, working at respected wineries such as St. Clement Vineyards, Cuvaison, Robert Craig and White Cottage Ranch Winery.
A Napa Carneros Pinot Noir from older vine ploantings and a Lake County Sauvignon Blanc are produced. The wines are sold through the website store.
