Oregon's first not-for-profit winery established in Salem, Oregon, in 2009. Bodhichitta ("bodda-cheetah") is a Sanskrit word meaning inner self or soul. Profits are donated to charities at the local, regional, national and international level.
The owner and winemaker is Mark Proden, who has made wine for 5 years and has 15 years of management and leadership experience.
A tasting room under the Island Mana Wines name is located in downtown Portland. Both Bodhichitta and Island Mana Wines (fruit-flavored wines) as well as lavender aromatherapy and culinary products are available exclusively at the store.
Bodichitta Winery produces Pinot Gris Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
