The land in Sonoma where the winery is located, at the end of Millerick Road, has been in the family since the late 1800s. In 1977 father Bob and son Tom Larson planted 40 acres of Chardonnay and established what is now the Larson Family Winery in 1987. Today, the winery is in the middle of 70 acres of vineyards.
The wines are sold exclusively through the winery's tasting room (situated in an old livestock barn), online store and wine club. The winery's tasting room just off Highway 121 near the downtown Sonoma Plaza is open daily from 10:00 to 5:00. A civil war era farmhouse is available for vacation rental. The winery emphasizes that there is plenty of fun to be had for the whole family when visiting.
Multiple varietals are produced including and estate grown and produced Carneros Pinot Noir.
