Established in 2002 by David and Susan Sabina, named in honor of David's mother, Sabina Sabin, the matriarch of the family. Sabina Vineyards' primary focus is two Cabernet Sauvignon releases from two different sub-appellations of the Napa Valley. The winery also produces an Oregon Pinot Noir from Roserock Vineyard in the Willamette Valley.
The winemaker is Alejandro Alfaro. He came to California from Mexico at the age of 18, worked the vineyards at Pine Ridge and Hess Collection, and studied English and winemaking at Napa Valley College. He became the full time winemaker at Sabina in 2008. He also consults for Grove and Teachworth wineries.
The wines are sold through a mailing list. The winery and home are on the estate vineyard property and not open to the public except on a limited basis by appointment.
