In 1999, Greg and Barbara Hill bought a small ranch from the Pinoli family close to Goldeneye, Roederer Estate and Husch. They rebuilt one of the valley's oldest farmhouses and planted a small vineyard to Pinot Noir Dijon clones 114, 115 and 777 and a small amount of Pommard.
Deny Dudzik is both the vineyard manager and winemaker. He was co-winemaker at Handley Vineyards for 10 years. He works closely with Ardzooni Vineyard Management. Phil Baxter Jr. of Baxter Winery provides custom crush and bottling services, as well as consulting with Deny on winemaking. Pinot Noir is typically aged 11 to 12 months in 30% to 50% new French oak barrels.
Nelson Hill Deep End Vineyard is located just west of Hwy 128 in Philo. Anderson Valley Pinot Noir has been offered from the estate Deep End Vineyard since 2007.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, sous-bois, and
rose petal. A charge of black cherry fruit and spice greets the palate. Nicely composed with gracious tannins,
finishing with black raspberry goodness and a hint of alcoholic warmth.

Moderate garnet color in
the glass. Aromatic nose offering scents of black cherry, strawberry, spice and earth. Even more appealing on
the palate, offering a complex of flavors including dark cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, tobacco and spice. More
desirable when tasted the next day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle, showing persistent aromatic
joy and a deep cherry flavor.

Pommard.

Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. The
nose exhibits great cherry purity and persists over time in the
glass. Flat-out delicious attack of black cherry fruit that
envelopes the palate and persists through a grand finish. Sleek,
refined and harmonious with modest, slightly burly and chalky
tannins, and a deft compliment of oak. This wines seems mostly
Pommard in character.
Score: 94.

Vineyard.

Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Shy, but pleasant aromas of black cherry and
savory dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is pleasingly savory and fruity, with mid weight flavors of dark
cherry, black raspberry, spice, herbs and a touch of toasty oak. Good harmony, with an array of dark fruits
including blueberry, black cherry and pomegranate fanning out on the finish which leaves the slightest bit of
warmth in its wake. Tasted twice.

2012 Nelson Hill Deep End Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

May 15, 2015. This rocky, south-facing vineyard is located on a slope only a few miles from the Mendocino
coastline.

Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. A mid weight plus styled wine with a very ripe fruit profile.
Aromas of crushed cherries, spice cake, sassafras and complimentary oak lead to satisfying and sappy flavors
of black cherry, black raspberry, cola, spice and toasty oak. The tannins are submerged, the mouthfeel is plush
and velvety, and the finish shows impressive length and welcome juiciness.
Score: 90.

2010 Nelson Hill Deep End Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

Moderately light reddish purple color in the
glass. Shy initially, but opens nicely over time, offering scents of black
cherry and sandalwood. Light to mid weight cherry essence that really
pops like a cherry pie out of the oven. Silky in the mouth with balanced
tannins and a very tasty and lively cherry-driven finish. Definitely better
the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle.

vintage of this wine with a bigger, lush fruit-filled finish.
