Greg Martellotto's family has been making wine for generations, and his grandfather brought traditional winemaking practices to the United States when he immigrated to Ellis Island in 1909. Greg has experience as a winemaker in California, Italy and Mexico, he has launched several wine brands, built a successful import and distribution company and developed long-term relationships with growers, winery owners and clients.
Martellotto wines are vineyard-designated focusing on grapes sourced from biodynamically and sustainably farmed vineyards. The 2011 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir is labeled "Les Bon Temps Roule," and is sold through the website.

new and organic Spear Vineyard that is located between
Sea Smoke and Foley and across Hwy 246 from Dierberg.
66% Pommard, 20% 115, 14% Wädenswil 2A. Aged 12
months in French oak barrels. Aged 11 months in French
oak barrels, 10% new.

Light ruby red color in the glass.
Aromas of red cherry and red raspberry combine with pipe smoke and
baking spice aromas to draw you into the glass. Fresh and juicy with a
dark red fruit character in a mid weight style. Elegantly composed, with
good harmony and the slightest hint of friendly oak. My cup of tea.

2005 Martelletto Gaia Vineyard Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
14.6% alc.. Aged 17 months in French
oak.

Very appealing aromas of bright fresh red cherries with a complimentary touch of oak. Delicious
dark red stone fruits with a sidecar of Asian spice. Noticeable but dusty tannins and a protracted fruity
finish. The wine has an elegant bent which I like and avoids the ponderous and showy fruit that some
Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noirs exhibit. A very nice effort.
