In 2008, Douglas and Victoria King planted their Royal Flight Estate Vineyard at their Santa Maria Valley Estate to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The inaugural Pinot Noir was released from the 2011 vintage.

The winemaker is David Addamo.
