The Hope family arrived in Paso Robles in 1978, planted vineyards, and have grown grapes and made wine for over 30 years. Austin Hope, a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, learned winemaking under Chuck Wagner at Caymus in the Napa Valley. He later returned home to his family's vineyards in Paso Robles where he helped found Treana. Hope Family Wines is till family owned and operated.

Based in Paso Robles, Hope Family Wines portfolio includes Treana, Troublemaker, Candor, Austin Hope and Liberty School.
