Marcus Goodfellow and friends Drew Falkman and Bill Hanson launched Matello Wines in 2002. Marcus learned his winemaking apprenticing at Evasham Wood and Westrey. He developed an affinity for whole cluster fermentation that he credits to Steve Doerner of Cristom.
A second label debuted in the summer of 2014, Goodfellow Family Cellars.

A complex woodsy perfume with aromas of tilled earth, Herbs de Provence, cherry, and rose petal. Striking purity of well-spiced black cherry fruit in a mid-weight style with exquisite balance. Flavors of spice and peppercorns add interest. Giving initially but improves in the glass over time. A complete wine with an exceptionally long and gratifying finish. Score: 96. 2018 Goodfellow Heritage No. 14 Lewman Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
13.1% alc., 55 cases, $sold out. A dry-farmed vineyard at 500 feet elevation on the westside of the Eola-Amity Hills planted in 1993. · Light garnet color in the glass. Aromas arrive over time in the glass including red cherry, dried orange peel, redwood bark and salumi. Light in weight, with a bright nucleus of red cherry, red raspberry and strawberry fruit flavors. 2018 Goodfellow Heritage No. 11 Durant Vineyard Dundee Hills Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
13.6% alc., 55 cases, $70. · Light garnet color in the glass. Perfume of cherrywood, balsam, red rose petal and baking spices. Mid-weight flavors of red raspberry and cherry with a note of spice. Silky in the mouth, vibrant, noticeable tannins and a slightly astringent finish. Faint oak plies the background. 2013 Goodfellow Family Cellars Whistling Ridge Vineyard Ribbon Ridge Oregon Chardonnay
13.5% alc., 220 cases, $N/A. From a 14-acre dry farmed vineyard planted in 1990 in Willakenzie soil. · Light golden yellow color and clear in the glass. Aromas arrive and depart over time, showing lemon-lime, green grass, brioche, toast and a hint of petrol.
