Entrepreneur partner Bill Price of Classic Wines and Price Family Vineyards joined winemaker partner Sam Spencer to launch Head High Wines, a surf-inspired wine brand. Both Spencer and Price share a love for surfing. Head High derives its name from the surfing term which refers to waves that are the same height as the rider.
Spencer has spent the past two decades producing acclaimed wines in Northern California. He was the director of winegrowing at Cameron Hughes Wine and co-founded Spencer-Roloson Winery. He also owns and oversees farming of the Madder Lake Vineyard in Lake County.
Vineyard sources include Price's Durell Vineyard, Sangiacomo, Spencer's Madder Lake, Lichau Hill, among others. A Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Rosé are offered.
